On November 28, 2023, the Houthis reiterated their commitment to supporting and standing by the people of Gaza with all available resources. It would target every vessel that sails to or from Haifa. The Israelis not only brought the Houthis to themselves as "October 7th" didn't come from a vacuum. They saw most of all their import in danger. As always, the United States stood up for them and conflated that "freedom of navigation" in the Red Sea was in danger. But the Houthis have said they would only target shipping lines from and to Haifa. Unlike the general and politically motivated approach particularly in the global north fueled by Israeli war language, we look from the perspective of human research as it is about collective behavior from the global north that has emerged as an existential threat to the Palestinian people since 1916. The essence is interference in the continuation of the existence of life of people since humans discovered the existence of power and domination and learned that both can be used to bring oneself above others. In Gaza, it is about replacing the existence of life of the Palestinian people with their own one. So, we view what the Houthis do for these people as what it is: intervention, not terrorism. The rest is resorting to revenge by Israelis and escalation by their allies. |
